Plan Exit Now is a free exit-planning resource for business owners, run by Dan Bernstein, a sell-side M&A advisor, through his company, Bernstein LLC. There's no call center and no team behind the brand. When you use these tools, you deal with Dan.
Dan Bernstein, CM&AA, CEPA
Dan has spent more than ten years advising business owners, with 11 closed sell-side transactions and more than 35 engagements across specialty contracting, industrial services, healthcare services, government contracting and adjacent sectors. Recent closed deals include a $47.5M specialty drilling platform and a $30M boutique manufacturer.
He is a Certified M&A Advisor (CM&AA) and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), which means he works with owners years before a sale as well as during one.
Before M&A, Dan was a mechanical engineer: an aerospace engineer on GE Aviation programs and a U.S. Patent Examiner in internal combustion and automotive systems. He holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Ohio State.
Why the tools are free
Most owners who will sell in the next few years aren't ready to talk to an advisor yet. The tools give you something useful now. Some owners come back when they're ready to sell; many simply use the results to plan. Both are fine.
How Dan is paid
The tools and first conversations are free. If you later hire Dan to sell your company, his fee is set in a written agreement with you and is mostly paid at closing. He represents sellers and doesn't take fees from buyers on companies he represents. If your company is outside his practice, he'll point you to the right kind of advisor and won't charge for the referral.
